Tom Jones epic three month journey is scheduled to come to a close as he completes his 1,250 mile journey along the coast of California for The Campaign for a Plastic-Free Ocean. He began on August 4th and is scheduled to complete the world record breaking effort when he arrives at Imperial Beach on Friday, November 9.
Jones has been supported in his trip by legendary surfers such as Laird Hamilton, Mickey Munoz, Jericho Poppler and Rob Machado. The support has been overwhelming and to date they have raised over $10,000 for the cause.
Considered one of the world's most extreme athletes, in 2000, he ran 120 consecutive marathons (26.2 miles) in 120 days from Huntington Beach, CA to New York City, NY to raise money for underprivileged children. He is also a professional Muay Thai Boxing Champion with 2 World Titles and 3 U.S. Titles. Now, he has discovered stand up paddling and has once again donated his time and energy in an unprecedented manner.
