Stand-up paddle surfing has become so popular among water athletes that a monthly magazine with the same name will soon be published locally.
Nate Burgoyne, the magazine's editor and a real estate investor by day, plans to launch the inaugural issue in a month. He says he's not ready to discuss details, such as page and circulation numbers.
Some of the magazine's content already is written and posted on supsurfmag.com, a Web site dedicated to the sport. Burgoyne is the site's editor, writer, photographer, and designer.
In the past 30 days, supsurfmag.com has gotten 6,600 hits and 23,000 page views from more than 90 countries. The site's advertisers are distributors and makers of, you guessed it, stand-up-paddle surfing equipment.
