SUPS (stand up paddle surfing) founder Chris de Aboitiz and Eugene "Woogie" Te Manu Marsh attempt the first ever stand-up paddle circumnavigation of Fraser Island, the world's largest sand island and world heritage site. A total of 300 kilometers paddled in six 50k stages. Why: The paddlers will be attempting to raise money for DSAA (Disabled Surfers Association Australia). As a forerunner/launch event to the 2008 Noosa Festival of Surfing, the paddling marathon will also draw attention to the waterman and charity aspects of the festival.
