The event is on...Stand Ups on Saturday @ Queens
The second event on the Steinlager Shaka Longboard Series will go on this weekend at Queen's (Kuhio Beach), in Waikiki as the summer swells continue to show form along Oahu's south shore.

Running on Saturday will be the pro-am longboard as well as the open standup paddle division and on Sunday, all the amateur divisions will be running.

Although the surf will be smaller than the waves that showed up earlier this week, still expect some high levels of competition as the best longboards in Hawaii are ready, after a long drought of no competition.

Results to follow.

Steinlager Series Schedule 2008

June 21,22 Kuhio Beach, (Queen's)
July 5,6 Kewalo Basin
July 19,20 Ala Moana
September 13,14 Queens or Haleiwa

WHAT a JOKE that Queens contest was. Please how do you become a judge for SUP? If you were on the beach...how could Leleo Kinimaka not advance to the Finals??? Pulling all 10 on the nose(over and over), helicopter after helicopter, amazing use with the paddle while surfing, and in 2 ft. waves??? What were the judges smoking. Do they even do SUP? Why don't you just let all the surfers know what you are looking for so they don't have to bust their asses perfecting moves if you just judge them like a longboarder.
He was not the only one that got the shaft yesterday. Feel bad for the winner that knows he can't even pull the moves that Kinimaka and the others that got over looked. Oh well, just like Olympic Figure Skating judges except..keep it up and who would want to enter contests with that political CRAP. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE...the Video speaks louder than your judging marks.
